THANK YOU!

What a busy weekend Woodland Corner has had!

Big thanks to everybody who came to support The Community Council Quiz hosted by our Chair, Rachel Hitchcock, on Friday evening. It was a really fun evening with 22 teams competing  to win the coveted title. Well done to 'The Wanderers' who won for the second year running.

Then on Saturday morning our Cake Sale was a huge success raising £246.92. Thank you to everyone who baked for us, bought from us or helped on the day. We really appreciate all of your support.

Next date for your diary is Friday 21st November for our  Ladies Shopping Evening at Nayland Village Hall. More details soon!

Playgroup Harvest Celebration

On a hot and sunny September morning around twenty families joined the staff and children at Playgroup for a lovely Celebration of Harvest. Everyone brought generous donations of fruit, vegetables, flowers, preserves and cakes and we sang songs and shared the story of the Little Red Hen and The Enormous Turnip.

At the end of the morning we had a sale of all the produce and rose over £80 for Age UK. We also filled a basket with fresh vegetables and fruit to donate to Nayland House Care Home.

Wednesday 17 September 2014

Cake Stall October 4th

On the morning of Saturday 4th October we are holding one of our popular fund raising Cake Stalls outside Kerridge’s Butchers in Nayland and we are asking all of our Woodland Corner parents if they are able to help,  either by making something delicious for us to sell or helping on the day – or both! Helping on the day is a lot of fun and an ideal way for new parents to meet other parents and members of our Committee.  We will have a rota on the door in the lobby for volunteers to put their name on so you would not need to commit yourself for more than an hour.

Cakes can be dropped off at Woodland Corner on Friday 3rd October by 3.30pm or brought along to the stall early on the morning (by 9am please).  Could we ask that all produce is labelled with exactly what it is and that tins and trays are also labelled clearly so that they can be returned to you afterwards. Experience has taught us that cakes with heavily iced toppings melt very quickly in the glaring Nayland sun (yes, really!) so it might be better avoid those kind of creations.

Thank you in anticipation!
